At the upcoming IFPDA Print Fair, New York event, which runs from this thursday 9 to sunday 11 April, Mireille Mosler will be offering some véry special artworks. First and foremst of course a most important drawing/print by Ingres. And a work by the fascinating Simeon Solomon, an amazing collection of early abstract/spiritual art by Dutch woman artist Elisabeth Stoffers AND a masterpiece by everyone’s favorite artist right now, the elusive Carel de Nerée tot Babberich! Thanks to last year’s successful exhibition at the Dordrechts Museum and the accompanying book, De Nerée is once again, and rightly so, the center of attention in the art world. De Nerée’s work occasionally comes onto the market, but artworks of this caliber are all held in museums and a few private collections and thus extremely rare. The exquisite selection of drawings that Emanuel von Baeyer presented at TEFAF last month was therefore truly exceptional. It rightly placed De Nerée in an international context. De Nerée has been called the Dutch Beardsley, which is certainly partly true, but based on this work you could probably call him the Dutch Klimt as well. This work is very much comparable to Klimts Golden Women of the period. You will find all the information here.
